Steering Wheel

A steering wheel is the primary driver interface for controlling the direction of a vehicle. It is connected to the steering column and steering system (rack-and-pinion or steering box) and allows the driver to guide the front wheels. Modern steering wheels also integrate safety and convenience features.

Steering Wheel Failure Symptoms
  • Difficulty turning the wheel – stiff or heavy steering, often linked to power steering issues.
  • Excessive play or looseness – steering feels sloppy, reducing control precision.
  • Steering wheel vibrations – noticeable shaking, especially at certain speeds or while braking.
