Product Information

Starter

Starter motors are what get your engine running. In order for an engine to start it must be rotating. The starter motor spins the engine via the flywheel or flex plate while fuel is injected into the engine. Starter motors are very robust and have a long service life but can fail. A failed starter motor will prevent you from being able to start your car.

Starter Failure Symptoms

Are these SEG Automotive starter motors brand new, or remanufactured? I see the Bosch starters are remanufactured and have a core charge, and the SEG do not. Also on a side note, given the price between the two brands (SEG Automotive and Bosch - i.e. $139-$140) is about the same, which would you recommend? Both say they're from Hungary, and I assume the Bosch is reman'd there and the SEG is built there? Or are they both remanufactured? Thanks.

The SEG units would be brand new not rebuilt units, the Bosch units are remanufactured and would include components from all over, typically being rebuilt in Mexico. Honestly, we have seen good performance coming out of either unit, the only Pro I would say is the SEG does not require the return of a core.
