Product Information
Starter motors are what get your engine running. In order for an engine to start it must be rotating. The starter motor spins the engine via the flywheel or flex plate while fuel is injected into the engine. Starter motors are very robust and have a long service life but can fail. A failed starter motor will prevent you from being able to start your car.

I believe I've had a solenoid failure in this starter...1 week after installing it. Did a little googling and found out that it is better to rebuild your starter than to put one of these things in. It sounded whimpy as soon as I turned it on, but of course now the starter just runs and runs and runs. I had to run quick to grab a wrench to pull my battery cable off, lucky I was home and not out and about. I thought the Bosch name would mean that I could get more than 10 starts out of it. I had a sneaky sense that I did NOT want to relinquish my old starter for $50 "core" money and now I am SOOOOO glad I kept my original one. But your mileage may vary!
This starter was installed on my 940 SE over a year ago and it still works flawlessly. The roadside assist guarantee that Bosch offers with this starter is a plus.
Ordered to replace an original starter in 1968 Volvo P1800S. Fit great and I did not have to change out the bolts.
Installed it Saturday last; surprised at the size difference with the different magnet set up; weighs half of the original field magnet starter; no install problems due to the smaller size and lighter weight; I'm hearing it turn the engine over "SLIGHTLY" slower than the original. Expecting a LONG service life out of this one!
Had an occasional no start problem, sometimes I could fix it by knocking the starter w/ a dowel. Swapped out the starter and no more problems. Need to use about 28" of extension to get the top bolt out. Love the free shipping.

You say that any of the four will fit my 240. If you have 4 models all with different part numbers, how can they all fit my car and be the right item?
