Can I give these 10 stars? They deserve it!
Story time: My mom bought an XC90 three years ago. I take care of it for her. When she got it, the shocks and struts were bad. Especially the rear ones. To make sure the ride was nice, I bought front and rear Sachs shocks and struts. Ever since then, I felt like it rode way too hard. Every little bump in the road seemed to be amplified. It felt like my S60 on Bilsteins. It was terrible for an XC90! I had to drive it for a week and decided that it was just too bad for her to be driving around in a car that was stiffer than actual sporty cars I’ve driven. I started researching suspension. To my surprise, I found out that FCP had Koni “FSD” shocks. I remember that these were amazing on P80s back in the day. They just have a new name now. I was so fed up that I bit the bullet and bought a set. If you’re on the fence about buying smooth suspension for your XC90, don’t look anywhere else. You NEED these. They smooth out the awful roads around here like a German vehicle manages to. Maybe even better. Large bumps are still felt but they don’t sound so harsh. They definitely don’t feel as harsh. And smaller bumps are completely absorbed. Cornering feels BETTER than the Sachs. Somehow. I don’t know how it’s possible for a shock that feels this soft to not just collapse in a turn and make a large vehicle like an XC90 feel like it’s going to tip over. The ride itself even seems quieter. I guess since the terrible Sachs shocks aren’t jiggling all of the plastic bits in the vehicle, it’s eerie how much quieter it is. I didn’t even think that was going to be a change. 10/10! I definitely recommend these. I wish they would fit one of my cars because I would buy another set today. I’m almost considering an XC90 for myself now, just for these.
