Its purpose is mainly cosmetic, giving the seat a finished appearance by concealing structural components, mechanisms, and wiring. In many vehicles, the seat trim panel also provides mounting for controls such as power seat switches, lumbar adjustment levers, or memory seat buttons, making it both a decorative and functional component of the interior.
