Because of the location of Volvo's V8 power steering pump, the seals commonly overheat, dry out, and go bad. Volvo does not offer a rebuild kit and requires the replacement of the entire pump.

However, we have sourced replacement seals using the OE dimensions and industry-standard fluorocarbon material to provide you a safe and high quality replacement solution that will fix your leaky power steering seals for good. This kit is an FCP Euro exclusive!

The power steering pump is held together simply with 4 bolts, making this an easy DIY for any home mechanic on a budget. Once open, it's apparent which seals go where.

I had no idea this was an option!
I just happened to find this kit while planning to have my power steering pump off for another repair. I was actually pricing a new pump when I saw this kit. These seals are SUPER easy to replace! I strongly recommend doing this if you are going to be working near the power steering pump. YouTube video is very helpful in putting these O-rings in the right spot because these O-rings have a less visible size difference than those that you will remove. I was a little concerned about that but my power steering pump is no longer leaking, so it is not an issue to be concerned about. A whole lot cheaper than a new pump if all you need to do is stop it from leaking.

glad I didnt have to buy the whole pump
Easy DIY, bought as part of the kit which had pretty much everything I needed including degreaser because this will be a greasy mess of a job

Are any of these o-rings internal? i.e. could my pump have a bad o-ring but it not be leaking externally? I have heavier-than-it-should-be power steering. It's not any coupler or steering shaft bearing. Gotta be pump or rack at this point.

Are there specified torque values for the pump assembly bolts?
