Power Steering Hose

The power steering pressure hose is a high-pressure line that connects the power steering pump to the steering gear or rack. It carries pressurized power steering fluid from the pump to the steering mechanism, allowing for easier steering by amplifying the force exerted by the driver on the steering wheel.

Power Steering Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Fluid Leaks: A common sign of failure is visible leaking of power steering fluid around the pressure hose or its connections. This can appear as puddles or wet spots under the vehicle
  • Increased Steering Effort: If the pressure hose is damaged or obstructed, it may result in reduced fluid flow to the steering gear, making it more difficult to turn the steering wheel
  • Unusual Noises: Whining, groaning, or hissing sounds may occur when turning the steering wheel, indicating air in the system due to a leak or that the pump is working harder than usual

Don't cheap out and go aftermarket for this part.
This hose was bought to replace an aftermarket hose I put on first. This hose is sturdy and rigid as opposed to the the Scantech and MTC hoses were flimsy, weep fluid, and may or may not droop down to the power steering pulley shredding itself and dumping power steering fluid all over the road. It is worth the extra money to go genuine here.
