Engine Oil Dipstick Tube

An engine oil dipstick tube is the metal or plastic guide pipe that holds and directs the oil dipstick into the engine’s oil pan. It ensures accurate measurement of oil levels while also sealing the opening to prevent leaks or contaminants from entering the crankcase.

Engine Oil Dipstick Tube Failure Symptoms
  • Oil leaks around the base of the tube or where it meets the engine due to cracks or broken seals.
  • Loose or broken dipstick fit, making it hard to get an accurate oil reading or causing the dipstick to pop out.
  • Check engine smell or smoke, if oil seeps onto hot components from a damaged tube.

it was mentioned somewhere that when I replace the dipstick that it would not fit the house so I order the tube. Come to find out I did not need the tube after all and replaced the o ring and stick with no issues. I just need to get around to returning the tube now.

Nice addition
This was one of those didn't really "need" but was inexpensive enough to buy type of purchase. Getting the bolt back into place was a chore, not sure if the tab on the new dipstick is slightly off to OEM, but it wasn't exactly a quick swap (maybe just me lol) . Be sure to purchase the "RED" handle dipstick and lower O Ring to go with this. I also noticed the dipstick goes in awfully tight into the tube, make sure to add some lubricant to the O rings on the dipstick prior to forcing into the tube.

Prompt service. The only people who told dipstick buyers that they needed a new tube as well (and a gasket). This sort of proactive information is great for inexperienced buyers.
