About Odometer Gears

Owned by Jeff Caplan, Odometer Gears started out when the Owner of the company needed to replace the Odometer gear on his 1980 BMW 528I to complete the restoration of the vehicle. However, after searching from repair shop to repair shop, everyone want to sell him the entire cluster repair service or in some cases the entire instrument cluster itself which could cost up to $1600 installed. Once he made his first gear, word got out and he quickly started getting orders from other enthusiasts. Today, Odometer Gears still has the passion and drive to make inexpensive solutions to repair expensive components by developing smaller parts to repair them.

Excellent!
Installed in a matter of minutes in my '89 240DL wagon along with FCP's replacement 25 tooth gear. Works great! Way better than the original 2 piece pod design. Really fast shipping too!
