A liftgate bump stop is a small but important component mounted on the vehicle body or liftgate, designed to cushion and align the liftgate when it closes. It helps prevent metal-to-metal contact, reduces vibrations, and ensures a snug, rattle-free fit. By absorbing impact and maintaining proper alignment, the bump stop contributes to a smoother closing action and prolongs the life of the liftgate and latch assembly.
