Product Information
Liftgate supports, or gas struts, are pressurized cylinders designed to hold up a liftgate or rear hatch. Over time, they can fail due to a pressure drop, often caused by exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, or contaminants. Cold weather, in particular, can reduce the gas pressure inside the struts, making them less effective at supporting the gate during cooler conditions.
Liftgate Lift Support Failure Symptoms- The hatch may feel heavier or fail to stay open as high as before due to a gas leak in the lift support
- Grease or oil leaking from the existing shocks
- Seeping noise or creaks coming from the shocks when lifting the hatch

Keeps my tailgate open like new! Installs in 2 minutes.
I installed the rear lift supports on my 2011 xc90 during warm ups at my sons little league game. Needed a wide blade screwdriver, but had them installed in operating in about 10 mins. I've had the Lesjofors for about 4-5 months now with 0 problems. Don't wait, get this done if you need them. They're cheap, ez to install, and will make a huge difference. I'm ordering for my hood next as they should probably be replaced as well. Note these don't appear to be the same part but they look just as simple.

Bought this to replace my factory hatch lifts. Was skeptical of the quality considering they aren't Volvo OEM but they turned out great! Have had them on my '14 XC90 for about 6 months now with no problems (and I'm in and out of my tailgate quite a bit). They even slow down the rate of ascent a few inches before the top, pretty cool feature.
Ordered these to replace the aging hatch struts on my 2008 XC90 V8 and these fit perfectly. They're a little stiff at first, but I was so used to a saggy tailgate. I highly recommend these to anyone looking to replace theirs. Read the instructions if you're a little confused!

Super quick and easy install. After living with a drooping hatch on my dad's Volvo and rocking myself in the head countless times over the past couple years, I finally caved and ordered these new struts. Pop the old ones off with a small flathead screwdriver and these new ones snap right into place. Don't wait any longer, order these and fix that hatch!
Fit perfectly and works great! So much better than getting hit in the head by the hatch.
