Volvo Exhaust System Muffler Kit - Starla 271421

After reading all these great reviews I decided to bite the bullet and have this shipped to Australia- not an inexpensive undertaking, but parts are hard to come by down here. As always, the package arrived quickly, but I soon noticed the issues with the clamps being ever so slightly too small, so when you tighten the clamp, the pipe "gathers" ever so slightly where the clamp cannot quite reach. More importantly, this is where an exhaust leak forms. The problem would most likely be solved if a slightly larger clamp were available in the kit.. The clamp that was used on the entrance to the muffler actually broke after having to reposition it a few times to get it to seal so I had to buy another one at a local auto parts store. The biggest problem is the tail pipe. It fits VERY loosely on the muffler and I ended up having to use a huge amount of exhaust past to try and get any sort of decent seal. It also sticks out about 2 inches beyond the bumper, so I'm going to try and attempt to cut the end off to avoid it getting damaged by other cars while parking. All in all, I guess if free shipping was part of the deal as it is in the US I'd be less upset with the outcome, but just sorting out decent clamps would be a huge improvement in the overall fit.

Bolted right up & a perfect fit. The front muffler supports were thrown out and 3 of the 4 exhaust clamps I'm skeptical of. 4 stars because some of the flanges were bent up from shipping & a few if not all of the joints leak past the clamps.

The shipping was super fast and installation went without a single problem. It brought the compression back to normal and sounds great! Thanks FCP!!

This exhaust package fit my 1991 240 station wagon perfectly. Thanks!

Great value! Installed easily and fit perfectly!

This muffler kit is a great deal, it included every part down to the clamps and hangers. The delivery arrive 2 days before the earliest estimated days. The service is all around excellent.

EASY and QUICK installation! Removal of the old exhaust on my 245 was the most difficult (if you even want to call it difficult). My Tip of the Day for the job: Get the metal car ramps from Harbor Freight and back-up on the ramps; it makes access to the entire exhaust much, much easier. Final Report: The car is much quieter, with smoother acceleration. Highly recommend it!

Fit my 1993 240 wagon perfectly

Everything arrived on time and in good condition. As others have said the clamps were a little small but we bent one slightly to make it go on. Otherwise it all fit nicely and works well. Great deal for the price, and recommended!

The o-ring style hangers could have been slightly larger in diameter, in this case (the others were fine). It was difficult to fit them around the brackets. The clamped connections leak slightly, not much. Certainly a huge improvement over what was replaced. Overall very pleased, considering the price.
