For optimum performance and an easier installation, ensure the muffler you choose is designer for your car including year, make, model and engine size. Generic mufflers are available but require a professional to size and install them properly.

11/2023 - This muffler has Walker 251237 embossed on it beneath a barely adhered Starla sticker. It seems like good quality and sounds rather quiet (I may have other leaks). I picked it up at FCP in CT and it was fully bubble wrapped. Even so, there was a small patch of scratches on the body (beneath the wrapping) which may promote rust. I plan to paint that and all welds and seams to resist rust.
Part arrived damaged but customer service promptly had a replacement part at my doorstep in 2 days, and my V70 now sounds like new. Excellent part and outstanding customer service. Thanks Tiffanie!
Arrived in like a day, with standard shipping. Looks to be very well made. Loss of a star because it came a little banged up, It's shipped naked with just the ends wrapped in plastic.
It doesn't get any better than this when trying to restore your 98' v70 with 220k! Car is breathing well now.

I searched for and found a Stainless Steel OEM design Muffler for my 96 Volvo 850 GLT here at FCP Euro. Price was awesome!! The sales and customer service at this company is outstanding. I got this installed for $70 at a local shop with a SS Tip that I already had and it sounds exactly like the original exhaust but is far more durable. Is this system a direct fit for a 1997 Volvo (base) Wagon? I could not determine from your description if this fits only a sedan, a wagon or is it the same for both? What, if any, additional parts are typically necessary or suggested?

I see you answered that this muffler is aluminized steel, will it qualify for lifetime replacement when it rusts out in a couple of years? Do I send back whats left of the part? If it's mostly rusted away is it still acceptable?

Replaced muffler and catalytic (Bosal 8602985). Clamp used was Bosal 254-934. New setup is noisy, seems to leak still at joint. Have reset it once, no change. Any suggestions? Not sure high temp Silicon gasket from a tube would be a good idea.

This unit is not stainless steel but aluminized steel. The inlet diameter would be identical to the original equipment.
