An exhaust pipe is a key part of a vehicle’s exhaust system that channels exhaust gases from the engine’s exhaust manifold through the catalytic converter, muffler, and eventually out of the tailpipe. It helps reduce engine noise, direct harmful gases safely away from the cabin, and support emission control. Exhaust pipes are usually made of steel or stainless steel but can deteriorate over time due to heat, moisture, and road salt.
Exhaust Pipe Failure Symptoms- Excessive noise – loud rumbling or hissing sounds from cracks, holes, or disconnected pipes.
- Exhaust leaks – visible fumes or a strong smell of exhaust near the vehicle, sometimes entering the cabin.
- Reduced performance – loss of engine power, poor fuel efficiency, or failed emissions tests due to restricted or leaking exhaust flow.

Great pipe quality super happy
Good quality, fit was bolt on direct. Some welds not very pretty, but no leaks and much better than my cracked original
Pipe fit perfect. Thanks to Bill for all his kind advice and helpful suggestions on my first DIY exhaust job.
Fit great except at the cat end the flange end type did not match what I expected. Had to cut about 1/2 off the old one to use it as a donut gasket. Everything else fit good.

The listing says it's for 240s without EGR, but the EGR doesn't connect to the down pipe. Do 240s with EGR use a different length or is there another reason? I'm having trouble finding the correct down pipe for my 1993 240 w/ EGR. Thanks!

Not so much the length but the style connector for the flange to the catalytic converter, models with a swivel flange to the converter and no EGR would use this header pipe. Models with EGR have a fixed flange at the converter and I believe a different port welded on for the EGR tube.

Does this come with hardware? If not is hardware for both the connection to the header and the cat available somewhere on here?

Hardware is not included. You'll need 3x p/n 977581, 3x p/n 977211, 1x p/n 3531326, 3x p/n 1276215, 3x p/n 985868.
