Its primary role is to create a tight seal that prevents coolant from leaking out of the thermostat housing, ensuring that coolant circulates properly between the engine and the radiator. The gasket is usually made from rubber, silicone, or paper-like materials and is designed to withstand the heat and pressure of the engine's cooling system.

• Coolant Leaks: The most common symptom of a failing thermostat gasket is a coolant leak. If the gasket becomes worn, cracked, or damaged, coolant may start to leak from around the thermostat housing, leading to visible coolant puddles under the vehicle or around the engine.
• Engine Overheating: A faulty thermostat gasket can cause coolant loss, leading to reduced coolant levels and overheating of the engine.
