Top Quality Genuine Volvo Part From Fcp

It's pricier but lasts longer. If your 850 is having trouble with Hot Starts, a likely cause is the CTS. It signals the DME about coolant temp; if it signals cold coolant temp on a hot engine, you get enriched mixture for starting... necessitating WOT and high RPM start. Easier to replace while you're doing your Thermostat replacement, an offset ring spanner assists with this job. (HINT: the same hot start issue caused by coolant leaking into the CTS connector causing a bad electrical connection. Try a thorough clean of the male and female pins in the connector)

At one point several months after replacing this sensor, I got a CEL for the sensor. Reset the CEL with OBD2 scanner and code never came back. Could have been a hiccup but car starts up everytime, I tell you

Diy'er

After 2.5 years of owning a Volvo, I'm finding out the hard way that you better just spend a little more and get the factory approved parts to begin with! I read online that with this sensor, factory is a must due to it's important tasks of reading the temp and sending the data back to the ECU, and making crucial decisions based on the temp. So if you go cheap it may not last. I know on our '98 XC it was a factory part I removed and it lasted 178k miles, so what's that tell you!? Get the original and be done with it.

Just Get The Oem Sensor.

No leaks or issues after 1.5 years. Wiring harness still in good condition, and I don't foresee anything going wrong with it anytime soon. Be sure to keep your coolant properly mixed and changed.

No More Cel

I had a check engine light on for a coolant temp sensor issue. After installing this and resetting the codes, I've gone almost 3 months without another code for this. All the forums said OEM only for this, so I paid the extra and got this one instead of the cheaper version.

A Must Do!

Every time I replace my thermostat I replace this sensor! Its better to be safe than sorry, this sensor will save your butt when it comes to overheating and blowing your head gasket!
