Its role is to follow the camshaft’s rotation, translating the cam’s rotational movement into the up-and-down movement that opens and closes the engine’s valves. This enables air-fuel intake and exhaust gas release, which is essential for engine operation.

  • Tapping or Clicking Noise: A worn or damaged camshaft follower can cause a distinct tapping or clicking sound from the top of the engine, which is often louder when the engine is cold
