Product Information
Nearly all modern whiteblock Volvos come with dual mass flywheels, meaning that the flywheel is a sprung assembly designed to reduce vibration and smooth the clutch operation. This DMF is for early (2004-2005) S60R and V70R models with the larger pressure plate and flywheel. It is highly recommended to replace the flywheel when you do the clutch, as unfortunately they cannot be resurfaced like a single mass due to the internal mechanics.

A clutch flywheel is a heavy, circular metal disc (usually made of steel or cast iron) mounted on the rear of the engine’s crankshaft in manual transmission vehicles. It plays a key role in both engine operation and clutch engagement.
Clutch Flywheel Failure Symptoms- Clutch slippage or poor engagement – worn or damaged flywheel surface reduces grip.
- Vibrations or shuddering – felt when engaging the clutch due to hot spots, warping, or cracks.
- Difficulty starting the engine – damaged flywheel teeth prevent the starter motor from engaging properly.
