Door Shell Seal

A Door Shell Seal (also called a door weatherstrip or door seal) is the rubber (sometimes foam-filled) gasket that runs along the edges of a vehicle’s door shell. Its main purpose is to create an airtight and watertight seal between the door and the vehicle’s body when the door is closed.

Door Shell Seal Failure Symptoms
  • Wind noise while driving – whistling or rushing air sounds, especially at higher speeds.
  • Water leaks – rainwater entering the cabin, soaking carpets or panels.
  • Temperature control issues – poor insulation, making heating/AC less effective.
