Daytime Running Light

The daytime running light (DRL) is a front-mounted lighting component designed to increase a vehicle’s visibility to other drivers during daylight hours. Typically using LED or halogen technology, DRLs operate automatically when the vehicle is in motion, enhancing safety without requiring driver input. Integrated into the headlamp assembly or as a standalone unit, DRLs are built for durability, energy efficiency, and long-lasting performance under continuous use.

Daytime Running Light Failure Symptoms
  • Light does not turn on or flickers – indicates bulb burnout, wiring issues, or LED failure.
  • Reduced brightness – caused by aging bulbs, failing LEDs, or internal damage.
  • Warning light or error code on the dashboard – signals a malfunction in the DRL system or related electrical circuits.
