Product Information

This auxiliary fan switch pushes into the radiator.

Most of today's car's use electric fans to help ensure the car does not overheat, with the fan being turned on by the engine fan cooling switch. If this switch is no longer working properly, it must be replaced to ensure the engine does not over heat.

Engine Cooling Fan Switch

An Engine Cooling Fan Switch monitors the engine temperature and controls the operation of the cooling fan, which helps regulate the engine's temperature by drawing air through the radiator. When the engine reaches a specific temperature, the switch activates the cooling fan to help dissipate heat and prevent overheating.

Engine Cooling Fan Switch Failure Symptoms
  • Overheating Engine: A malfunctioning cooling fan switch may fail to activate the cooling fan, causing the engine to overheat. If the fan doesn’t turn on when needed, the engine temperature can rise dangerously high, potentially leading to serious engine damage
  • Constantly Running Cooling Fan: If the switch is stuck in the "on" position, the cooling fan may run continuously, even when the engine is cool. This can lead to unnecessary battery drain and increased wear on the fan motor

Fit perfectly
I believe this fixed my coolant overflow issues, but time will tell. If you are having overflow, check to be sure that both speeds on your cooling fan are working properly. I believe that on the 700 and older series 900 cars, this controls the operation of the fan. Cheap enough and should be replaced anyway.

Fan switch
Replaced this because fan wasn't working and the old one was pretty dirty. Easy install even without draining coolant before hand. Just have to be quick. Fan sadly doesn't turn on still so I have a little troubleshooting to do. Nice to have new parts though.

over time the rubber gromet goes out and needs to be replaced . its one of the most neglected parts . its a very inexpensive thing to replace and i say just do it because of time and heat over the years . a great price
