Convertible Top Hydraulic Line

A convertible top hydraulic line is a pressurized hose or tube that carries hydraulic fluid between the pump and the hydraulic cylinders, which raise and lower a convertible roof. These lines must withstand high pressure and repeated flexing as the top operates. Over time, exposure to heat, pressure, and movement can cause the lines to weaken or leak, affecting the roof’s function.

Convertible Top Hydraulic Line Failure Symptoms
  • Hydraulic fluid leaks – visible fluid around the convertible top mechanism or under the vehicle.
  • Slow or incomplete roof operation – top struggles to move or stops midway due to low fluid pressure.
  • Noisy or overworked pump – pump runs louder or longer as it compensates for pressure loss from a leaking line.
