A Center High Mount Stop Light, also known as the third brake light, is the red warning light mounted higher than the vehicle’s left and right brake lights — usually at the top of the rear window, trunk lid, or roofline. It provides an extra level of visibility to alert drivers behind when the brakes are applied.

• Light does not illuminate when braking – could be due to a burned-out bulb (halogen), bad LED module, faulty wiring, or blown fuse.
• Dim or flickering light – often from poor electrical contact, corroded connectors, or weakening LEDs.
• Partial illumination (for LED strips) – some sections work while others fail, showing an uneven light pattern.
