Dashboard Air Vent

A dashboard air vent is a component of a vehicle’s HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system, located on the dashboard. It directs airflow from the blower system into the cabin, allowing the driver and passengers to control where air is distributed (e.g., face, feet, or windshield). These vents usually feature adjustable louvers to change airflow direction and, in some cases, flow control wheels to open or close the vent.

Dashboard Air Vent Failure Symptoms
  • Loose or Stuck Louvers – Vent fins don’t stay in place, flop around, or get stuck, limiting airflow control.
  • Cracks or Broken Pieces – Visible damage, missing fins, or broken adjustment tabs that reduce function and aesthetics.
  • Weak or Uneven Airflow – Airflow feels restricted, misdirected, or uneven compared to other vents, often due to internal blockage or damaged vent mechanisms.

identical OEM
this part was the exact color and fit for my 2011 Volvo XC90 3.2 R-Design it took me about 15 minutes to remove and put in the new part.

Repair Broken Air Vent
Got the air vent in the mail. This is an Original Volvo part. I was disappointed to find the that vent swivel had come a part along with all its parts. Nothing was broken thankfully. Spent a good 15 minutes trying to put it together. Hard to do with fat fingers. Besides that it has worked out great. I don't believe its FCPs fault, more to do with the way Volvo packed the part.

is this actually gray or dark gray/black ?
