Product Information
Instructions:
- Remove o-ring and nut from the bolt
- Thread the nut onto the bolt to the head flange side towards tool, replace o-ring on groove
- Position the cam seal onto the tool and then onto the camshaft
- Hand thread the bolt into the cam
- Counterhold the bolt and turn the nut to draw the tool down the bolt, pushing the tool and the seal evenly into place
A camshaft seal is a rubber or silicone ring located on the top of the cylinder head near the back of the engine, designed to prevent engine oil from leaking out; a failing camshaft seal will most noticeably manifest as visible oil leaks around the back of the engine, sometimes accompanied by smoke from the engine bay when the leaking oil comes into contact with hot exhaust components
Engine Camshaft Seal Failure Symptoms- Visible oil leaks: The most obvious sign, usually seen on the back of the engine near the valve cover.
- Smoke from the engine bay: Oil leaking onto hot exhaust manifolds can burn off, producing smoke.
- Oil residue on the engine: Even small leaks can leave noticeable oil stains on the engine.

This tool worked as needed. As noted, the instruction are non-existent. Remove the nut and small o-ring. Run the nut all the way up the bolt with the broad side facing down. Insert the assembly into the top of the tool. Install the o-ring into the grove on the bolt (this may be optional). Put some oil on the inside and outside of the new seal and place the seal onto the tool with the flat side of the seal resting on the tool face. Position the assembly into the camshaft, keeping the seal and tool straight. Then hand tighten the bolt into the end of the camshaft until it stops turning. Hold the head of the bolt with one wrench while turning the nut clockwise with another wrench. When the nut won’t turn anymore then the seal is installed. Don’t force anything. The seal should level with the internal beveled edge.
It definitely seated the seal properly. Watch a video on use, first. This thing looks like it has different options for assembly and the directions are pitiful
Excellent tool for installing Rear Camchaft tool. Beware, tool comes with nut holding bolt on installation tool. Remove nut and then remove bolt from tool. Thread nut onto bolt and run to end. Fit bolt into tool and screw into camshaft finger tight. Hold end of bolt with one spanner and turn nut down bolt with another spanner to fit seal into place.
WARNING: If you don't do this you will break the bolt off inside the camshaft.
