An Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid is an essential component of an engine's variable valve timing system. It controls the flow of oil to the VVT system, which adjusts the timing of the opening and closing of the engine's intake and exhaust valves. This adjustment allows for optimal engine performance, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions by enabling the engine to operate more efficiently across different RPM ranges.
Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid Failure Symptoms- Check Engine Light: A malfunctioning VVT solenoid often triggers the Check Engine light. First I would like to thank previous REVIEWS for letting us know how to wire this. The fact that this comes with NO wiring instructions is mind boggling. Also not sure why FCP doesn't let us know how to wire it somewhere in the description??? As far as putting the wiring harness together, I read some comments saying to RTV the wires in??? WHY there is no need for that... Simply remove the GREEN LOCKING CLIP and push the connectors in. The connector only goes in ONE way. If the connector doesn't "click" into place, flip it around, it should go in without any force applied. So far my 2001 XC has been running fine, actually better than before after replacing the VVT. Thank you FCP for having these products in stock and at a reasonable price. One aspect of this unit, I did not like is, the wiring harness is pointed towards the timing belt, I had to zip tie the wires in place to prevent them from touching the belt, just keep that in mind.....

Is this interchangeable with “ Volvo Variable Timing Solenoid Kit - Genuine Volvo 36002696” ? I have a 2001 S60 base, non-turbo. Both list my car in fitment but only one shows up in direct search.

36002696 is for the intake side, 211 is for the exhaust side.
