Ceramic brake pads

The friction compound used in this brake pad set is Ceramic. The main benefit of using a ceramic pad compound is that it produces less brake dust compared to a semi-metallic pad without sacrificing overall braking power. These pads will have less initial bite than a semi-metallic compound, but produce significantly less dust and have better temperature fade resistance in performance driving situations.

Lost some bite
These are okay, but when the temps got colder I lost initial bite. My driving is mixed stop and go traffic to spirited. I went with another brand after these and am happier.

I like them
I've had these on my XC90 for several years now. I usually drive it about like I would drive a shifter kart, and I've never had any noticeable fade or other problems. They last a long time, haven't eaten up my rotors, and the brake dust is much less. What's not to like?

DIY'er
Akebono pads fitted perfectly. However the spring clips on the outer front pads need to be bent up slightly to allow lower tension for the pads to seat fully to the back of the caliper housing.
