A CV (Constant Velocity) axle shaft is a key drivetrain component that transfers power from the transmission or differential to the wheels while accommodating steering angles and suspension movement. It uses CV joints at both ends to deliver smooth, consistent torque, even during turns or over uneven road surfaces. A healthy CV axle ensures efficient power delivery, stable handling, and reduced drivetrain vibration.

CV Axle Shaft Failure Symptoms
  • Clicking or popping noises when turning, often from worn CV joints.
  • Grease leakage around the CV boot, indicating a torn or damaged boot.
  • Excessive vibration during acceleration, caused by a failing or imbalanced axle shaft.
