Product Information

Overtime oil Leakage and moisture from the angle gear halves can be resolved be resealing the housing and replacing the seals. The angle gear itself does not normally need to be replaced.

There Two reasons the angle gear should NOT be resealed and instead replaced:

  1. There is angle gear noise/binding while driving.

  2. There is angle gear backlash, bearing damage, or excessive pinion shaft play found during dis-assembly.

transfer case seals
This kit should include 2x Corteco 30735126 drive axle seals instead of just 1. There are 2 of these and both of mine were cracked from wear and leaked. Otherwise a well priced kit. P.s. don't forget to grab yourself a right side transmission output seal 9143911 for the transfer case drive sleeve.

You can do this!
First off, if you have leak that looks like it is coming from the input shaft of the axle into the angle gear, verify that the Axle is indeed a Volvo factory one and not an aftermarket. Aftermarket or rebuilt axles may not have the correct OAL, which can lead to a gear oil leak. In any event, this kit has everything you need for a refresh when the Angle Gear is removed.

ANgle / Bevel Gear Reealing Kit
Caught my bevel gear not too many miles before it would have failed on me. Bought a used one and used the kit to reseal the unit before installing it. Have been chasing a drive train noise for several years, changed a lot of stuff that was in need of replacement but never fully got rid of the 'whine'. I think the bevel gear was slowly going bad, glad I caught it before it fully failed.
