An A/C refrigerant hose is a flexible, high-pressure line that carries refrigerant between key components of a vehicle’s air conditioning system, such as the compressor, condenser, and evaporator. Because it transports refrigerant in either gaseous or liquid form under varying pressure and temperature, the hose is reinforced with durable rubber and synthetic layers to withstand extreme operating conditions. Its proper function is essential for maintaining the closed loop that enables the A/C system to cool the cabin effectively.

A/C Refrigerant Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Weak or no cooling from the A/C due to refrigerant leaks in the hose.
  • Oily residue, cracks, or visible damage along the hose, sometimes accompanied by a hissing sound.
  • Frequent compressor cycling or A/C system shutdown caused by pressure loss.
