An A/C refrigerant discharge hose is a high-pressure hose that connects the air conditioning compressor to the condenser in a vehicle’s A/C system. After the compressor compresses the refrigerant gas, the discharge hose carries this hot, high-pressure refrigerant to the condenser, where it is cooled before circulating through the rest of the system. Because it handles both high pressure and high temperature, it is made of reinforced rubber or synthetic materials to withstand demanding conditions.

• Weak or no cooling from the A/C due to loss of refrigerant pressure from leaks in the hose.
• Visible refrigerant oil residue or cracks along the hose, sometimes accompanied by a hissing sound.
• A/C system warning lights or compressor cycling frequently because the system cannot maintain proper pressure.
