Volvo Intercooler - do88 Performance ICM130DO88

Note! This intercooler is designed for use with do88 intercooler pressure piping due to larger exit port.

This intercooler is all-aluminum construction with cad designed, flow-optimized cast end tanks and optimized core design to achieve best possible cooling efficiency combined with the lowest possible pressure drop! They can handle much higher pressure than the OEM intercooler, which has plastic tanks that can break or come loose at higher boost pressure.

A swap to this intercooler is a terrific upgrade for everybody that tuned / chip tuned/rebuilt their car so a better intercooler performance is needed! Expect to see improved cooling and less pressure drop compared to the OEM intercooler!

To the left under the main picture you will find two diagrams whish we show the difference between our intercooler and the OEM intercooler as well as one other common aftermarket intercooler. These data we logged in tests with intercooler in front of car and all three intercoolers were tested under the same conditions. Therefore, these data are reference values for comparison of different intercoolers performance that does not directly comparable with intercooler mounted in the original location.

This performance intercooler is developed by do88 to replace the original / OEM intercooler and gives true performance without the need of rebuilding the whole car!

Significant advantages with do88 performance intercooler (OEM intercooler):

• Core volume: 12302m3 (7255cm3), do88 is 70% larger!
• Air flow at 0,15bar/2,18psi pressure drop: 384CFM (232CFM), do88 66% higher! See diagram below!
• Post intercooler air temperature at same conditions: 28°C (41°C), do88 13°C lower!

Note! Fitting this to a C70/V70/XC70 may require small modifications to the headlight washer engine, slight grinding of plastic and generally a little tweaking to allow clearance.

A common misunderstanding is that an intercooler installed in this position cannot provide good performance and a front-mounted intercooler / FMIC would be much better. But actually, the do88 performance intercooler is far better than most FMIC installations where only a core with a small front surface is possible to install and often also installed partially behind the bumper beam, which will reduce cooling capacity even further and often cooling below the OEM intercooler are achieved.

This do88 performance intercooler comes with all hardware necessary for installation. Mounting is done using the original brackets/fasteners!

Please Note! This is important to think about before ordering this intercooler! do88 performance intercooler has a 2,5” (63mm) lower intercooler hose connection. Because of this we include a silicone hose which you install between the lower hose connection and intercooler pipe.
