Part of your BMW's intake manifold

The intake manifold adjuster, more commonly referred to as a DISA valve, is responsible for helping your BMW produce the best possible output across the rev range. The DISA valve artificially lengthens the intake runner at low RPM's for more low end torque and shortens the intake runners at high RPM's for more top end power.

A failed/failing DISA valve has the following symptoms:

  • Hesitation at low rpm
  • Rough idle
  • Lean codes
  • Loud noises from engine bay

This is very easy to replace for the DIY'er. Simply remove the 2 torx bolts (M6X18), disconnect the electrical connector, and slide the failed unit out.

Don't buy, bought 2 years ago. O ring started to leak so I removed it to inspect. The bell crank was completely stripped and the valve was about to fall apart.

Do not buy
Most people buying this are buying it to fix the vacuum leak from the o ring. This does not fit well at all and the new silicon ring with just tear. Complete waste of time and money thanks Vaico

Works great, looks exactly the same as the original genuine part. If you don’t know, some people have problems with the metals pins on this system coming loose after about 100k miles. When the pin gets loose it can drop into your motor and cause you to rebuild the motor. So my recommendation would be to buy this and spend another extra 100ish dollars for the rebuild kit XBR. FYI, if you are struggling with a lean code, learn from my mistake and check the fuel pressure before you buy this prematurely. I installed this and it didn’t fix my lean code.
