A skid plate is a heavy-duty protective armor designed to shield the underside of a vehicle, typically used on off-road or high-performance vehicles. It is typically made of thick, durable metal or reinforced plastic material to withstand impacts, rocks, and other debris that can cause damage while driving.

Skid plates are installed on the undercarriage of a vehicle, covering areas vulnerable to scrapes and dents such as oil pans, transmission, steering components, and fuel tanks.
