Saab Exterior Door Handle Base - Genuine Saab 12822358

Product Information

The exterior door handle base is the mounting component that secures the outer door handle to the vehicle’s door structure. It provides a stable foundation for the handle mechanism, ensuring smooth operation when opening or closing the door. Typically made from durable plastic or metal, the base is engineered to withstand repeated use, weather exposure, and the stress of daily operation while maintaining proper door alignment and functionality.

• Loose or wobbly door handle – caused by a cracked or weakened base.
• Door handle not operating smoothly – due to misalignment or damaged mounting points.
• Visible cracks or broken sections – compromising the handle’s stability and security.

About Genuine Saab

The original parts used by Saab to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine Saab” brand. Manufactured under the direction of Saab, expect excellent quality and a premium price since these parts are exclusively available through the Saab Dealership network.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your Saab are not necessarily manufactured by Saab. No cause for concern, as Saab designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for Saab for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine Saab parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a Saab logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.
