A CV joint kit refers to a set of replacement parts for a Constant Velocity joint, a crucial component in a vehicle's drivetrain that allows the wheels to turn smoothly at varying angles while driving, especially during turns; a failing CV joint often exhibits symptoms like clicking or popping noises when turning, vibrations while driving, and visible grease leaks from a torn protective boot, indicating the need for a replacement kit.

CV Joint Failure Symptoms
  • Clicking or popping noises when turning: This is the most common symptom, especially noticeable during sharp turns at low speeds, and is caused by worn-out components within the joint not moving smoothly
  • Clunking sound during acceleration or deceleration: If the inner CV joint is failing, you might hear a clunking sound when accelerating or shifting gears
  • Vibration while driving: A worn or damaged CV joint can cause vibrations felt in the steering wheel or floorboard, especially at higher speeds.
