Product Information

Transfer Case Motor

A transfer case motor is part of a vehicle's drivetrain that helps transfer power from the transmission to the axles. A bad transfer case can also damage the transmission by causing uneven power distribution and increased strain on the transmission components. A faulty transfer case motor can cause several issues, including:

Transfer Case Motor Failure Symptoms
  • Shifting problems: Difficulty shifting gears, getting stuck in a gear, or delayed engagement when shifting between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive
  • Noises: Strange grinding, growling, or humming noises
  • Fluid puddle: A puddle of fluid under the transfer case
  • Handling challenges: A damaged transfer case can make a vehicle unsafe to drive
