Part number 97034370102 is a new, unused, Genuine Porsche suspension stabilizer bar. Suspension stabilizer bars are also known as Anti-sway bars. Their intent is to improve handling by reducing the car’s body roll side to side. The stabilizer bar bushing is a physical insulator at the point of attachment to the car’s frame. Most bushings are made of rubber, but some people prefer bushings made of stiffer Urethane believing the car will handle even better (although the ride is stiffer).

Suspension Stabilizer Bar

A sway bar—also called an anti-roll bar or stabilizer bar—is a suspension component designed to reduce body roll during cornering. It essentially a metal rod that connects the left and right wheels (usually via short sway bar links) and twists slightly when the vehicle leans. This twisting action helps keep the car flatter in turns, improving stability and handling.

  • Excessive Body Roll in Turns: The car leans more than usual when cornering, making it feel less stable.
  • Clunking, Knocking, or Rattling Noises: Often heard when driving over bumps or during turns—usually from worn or broken sway bar links/bushings.
  • Loose or Wandering Steering Feel: The steering may feel less precise or the car may “float” more, especially on curves.
  • Uneven or Premature Tire Wear: Poor handling can lead to increased stress on certain tires.
  • Reduced Cornering Grip: The car might feel like it’s losing traction sooner when turning.
