Their intent is to improve handling by reducing the car’s body roll side to side. The stabilizer bar bushing is a physical insulator at the point of attachment to the car’s frame. Most bushings are made of rubber, but some people prefer bushings made of stiffer Urethane believing the car will handle even better (although the ride is stiffer).

Suspension Stabilizer Bar

A sway bar—also called an anti-roll bar or stabilizer bar—is a suspension component designed to reduce body roll during cornering. It essentially a metal rod that connects the left and right wheels (usually via short sway bar links) and twists slightly when the vehicle leans. This twisting action helps keep the car flatter in turns, improving stability and handling.

  • Excessive Body Roll in Turns: The car leans more than usual when cornering, making it feel less stable.
