For 2004-2006 Cayenne Base models, inspect the power steering hoses at this time and if they require replacement use KIT-9PASTEERINGHOSEKT2.

The power steering pump pumps fluid throughout the power steering system so there is a constant supply of fluid to the power steering rack to assist the driver. The power steering pump can fail in a few different ways beginning with the pump seizing up due to a lack of fluid. The pulley bearing can also wear out which will lead to squealing and in severe cases it can also seize up. A loss of power steering will cause the steering to feel heavy and more effort will be required to turn the steering wheel and it will be less responsive for the steering to return to center.

We've created this power steering pump kit to provide you with everything you'll need for a complete solution-based repair of your Cayenne. Included in our kit is a Genuine Porsche power steering pump, power steering pump pulley, and hardware to mount the power steering pump and pulley. Once the repair is complete use the provided Fuchs CHF11S hydraulic fluid to refill the power steering system. This kit will help to restore the steering and driving performance of your Porsche Cayenne.

Power Steering Pump Kit

Power steering pumps pressurize the fluid in the steering hydraulic system to allow for steering assist at slow road speeds. The power steering system is powered by the engine via a serpentine or v belt which spins the pump pulley. Power steering pumps are generally a lifetime component.

However, poor power steering system maintenance, old power steering fluid, and incorrect power steering fluid can cause the pump to fail prematurely. If your power steering pump is screaming or chirping when you are turning the wheels you may need to replace it.
