Product Information

The power steering pump pumps hydraulic fluid to the power steering rack to assist with steering effort and provides fluid for the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) system, also known as the active sway bar. When the pump fails the steering effort will increase considerably. It will also cause the check engine light to come on as the PDCC will become inoperable affecting the driving experience and performance of your Cayenne.

Our power steering pump kit includes the power steering pump, suction hose which connects to the two fluid reservoirs, and mounting hardware.

The power steering pump kit is a direct replacement for some 2008 through all of 2009 and 2010 model years. Fo 2008 models prior to the production split this kit replaces the old version of the power steering pump and power steering suction hose.

Power Steering Pump Kit

Power steering pumps pressurize the fluid in the steering hydraulic system to allow for steering assist at slow road speeds. The power steering system is powered by the engine via a serpentine or v belt which spins the pump pulley. Power steering pumps are generally a lifetime component.

However, poor power steering system maintenance, old power steering fluid, and incorrect power steering fluid can cause the pump to fail prematurely. If your power steering pump is screaming or chirping when you are turning the wheels you may need to replace it.
