Product Information

LN Engineering intermediate shaft bearing update kit for Porsche M96 engines originally equipped with a dual row IMS bearing. This kit replaces the original dual row bearing with a custom dual row ceramic hybrid bearing.

Kit Contains: Superior ceramic hybrid bearing, custom shaft cover flange with seal and bolts, improved center bolt.

Model year 2000-2001 engines had a mixed installation of single row and dual row IMS bearings. Some late model 2005 engines were also fitted with a larger bearing that is not serviceable without a complete engine tear-down. Visual inspection is the only reliable method to determine which type of bearing is needed.

This intermediate shaft bearing update kit requires replacement every 6 years or 75,000 miles. The LN Engineering updated IMS bearing can be replaced without engine removal using the tools below.

This kit requires the IMS Pro Tool Kit, 106-08.13, and the Faultless Tools IMS Tool Kit, 106-08.22.

Installation by an automotive professional is required to ensure proper fit, function, and any necessary support by the manufacturer.
