HVAC Blower Motor

The HVAC blower motor is a key component of a vehicle's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. It is responsible for pushing air through the vehicle’s HVAC system, circulating either heated or cooled air into the cabin through the vents. Without a functioning blower motor, air will not be properly distributed, making it difficult to heat or cool the interior of the vehicle. A failing blower motor will make it difficult to control the temperature and air circulation in your vehicle, leading to discomfort in extreme weather conditions.

HVAC Blower Motor Failure Symptoms
  • Weak or No Airflow from Vents: One of the most common signs is reduced or no airflow when you turn on the HVAC system.
  • No Response from HVAC System: If you turn on the HVAC system and there is no response (no sound, no airflow), the blower motor may have completely failed.

Is there a regulator built in to the unit or do you have to purchase that separately?

No, the regulator is not built into this blower motor. There is a separate control unit Porsche refers to as a fan governor, Porsche lists 97062442301 through model year 2011 and 97062442302 from model year 2012 onward; the later modules are now superseded by 97062442305, which we carry separately. The failure mode of the system should be determined prior to ordering to avoid repeat issues.
