The engine cooling fan shroud covers the engine cooling fan. This shroud is made of plastic and over time and through exposure to engine heat this shroud will become brittle and crack. Replace your worn or broken cooling fan shroud with this Genuine Porsche direct-fit shroud.

Engine Cooling Fan Shroud

An engine cooling fan shroud is a protective cover that surrounds the cooling fan, positioned between the fan and the radiator. It ensures that air pulled or pushed by the fan flows directly through the radiator, improving cooling efficiency. Without a shroud, much of the airflow would escape around the fan, reducing its effectiveness.

Engine Cooling Fan Shroud Failure Symptoms
  • Engine overheating – reduced airflow causes radiator inefficiency, especially at idle or low speeds.
  • Fan noise or vibration – broken or loose shroud parts may rattle against the fan.
  • Visible cracks or missing pieces – shroud damage reduces its ability to channel air properly.
