The engine cooling fan resistor is an component of a vehicle's cooling system, responsible for controlling the speed and operation of the engine cooling fan. This compact and durable electrical device is typically found near the radiator and works in conjunction with the engine temperature sensor.

As the engine heats up, the temperature sensor sends a signal to the cooling fan resistor, instructing it to regulate the speed of the cooling fan.
