New style ignition coil which includes longer bolts (M6x40).

Direct Ignition Coil

Direct ignition coils are located directly over the top of the spark plug. In this ignition setup there is one ignition coil per spark plug and there are no spark plug wires. This ignition setup is often referred to as a coil on plug ignition system.

Coil on plug or direct ignition systems are pretty much used on all modern cars due to packaging, performance, emissions, and maintenance reasons. This ignition system is essentially maintenance free with the exception of spark plug replacements and the occasional coil replacement when compared to a traditional ignition system.

China made German part
One of five failed. More sadly the part is marked Germany but box clearly marked made in China. Also getting through to anyone is not easy. Add to it my order was held up because one part of my order was not in stock. Then to finally find out made in China.

Works Great
These (with some plugs) fixed my misfire issue. These are an improved design from the ones that came with the car, at least for early 987s. They have a bigger head, and the bolts are easier to install because they're farther from obstructions on the block. Happy with the purchase.

Perfect Fit
At first glance these did not look like they would fit correctly but amazingly they fit better than the originals! They come with a different style securing bolt which is much nicer that the originals as well. Car runs much better with the new coils.
