Daytime Running Light Module

A daytime running light (DRL) module is an electronic control unit that automatically activates the vehicle’s daytime running lights when the engine is running. Its purpose is to enhance visibility during daylight hours, improving safety by making the vehicle more noticeable to other drivers. The module regulates power to the DRLs and may also integrate with other lighting functions, such as headlight dimming or automatic lighting control.

Daytime Running Light Module Failure Symptoms
  • Daytime running lights not turning on, even when the engine is running.
  • Intermittent or flickering DRLs, caused by faulty module operation.
  • Check light or warning indicator, alerting the driver to a lighting system malfunction.
