This coolant pump/thermostat housing kit tackles all of the cooling system components that are known to fail. This kit will allow you to go in and do the job once versus having to go in multiple times for each item that may fail. You may need additional hardware VAG-N10556301

Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly

An engine water pump is a crucial component of a vehicle's cooling system. It circulates coolant (a mix of antifreeze and water) from the radiator through the engine and back to the radiator to prevent the engine from overheating. The pump is typically driven by the engine via a belt, chain, or gear. A water pump's key functions are to maintain a consistent flow of coolant through the engine block, cylinder heads, and radiator and regulate engine temperature to prevent overheating or freezing in extreme conditions.
