Porsche Competition Intake Plenum Kit - IPD 87482KT

The IPD 987.2 Cayman "Competition" Plenum was designed to meet the needs of the most demanding Cayman S enthusiasts. The "Competition" Plenums is internally larger and specifically designed to utilized the larger 82mm 997 GT3 throttle body. The combination of the patented IPD "Y" designed Plenum and Porsche's largest throttle body yields great performance gains that can be seen and felt throughout the entire power band.

The "Competition" version was designed and developed to work with Boxster/Cayman models equipped with high quality high-flow aftermarket cat-back exhausts. The addition of headers and high-flow cats will only further complement the dramatic increases with intake airflow delivered by the IPD Plenum.

Performance gains take place throughout both horsepower and torque curves but are most realized through the mid-range and well into peak power range. This system develops up to 20+ HP and 15+ lb/ft of torque on models already equipped with aftermarket cat-back exhausts. Once installed, the 987.2 Boxster/Cayman Competition Plenum will truly transform your Porsche driving experience.

All Competition plenum kits are plug-and-play. No programming required. The vehicle will need to be driven for it to reset adaptations and for the ECU to optimize for the new and improved additions.

• BMC high flow air filter

We recommend replacing the mass air flow sensor at the same time as installing this kit because a dirty or old MAF will reduce the performance and effectiveness of the plenum.

About BMC Air Filters

BMC air filters are a complete replacement to the factory paper air filter and fit perfectly in the stock air filter location. Made using only high quality materials they allow for an increase in air flow with more efficient filtering of impurities as small as 7 microns.

BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from fumes and oxidization due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled, and they can be washed and regenerated by using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
