Product Information

All 986 Boxster IPD Plenum applications are designed to utilize the larger 74mm Porsche throttle body (up from 68mm). The combination of the patented "Y" design of the IPD Plenum combined with a larger throttle body allow for improved air flow and intake air speed. The IPD Plenum is the absolute single best performance mod you can install on a Porsche Boxster.

All Competition plenum kits are plug-and-play. No programming required. The vehicle will need to be driven for it to reset adaptations and for the ECU to optimize for the new and improved additions.

Kit Includes:

  • IPD Competition Plenum with throttle body gasket and hardware
  • Bosch 74mm throttle body
  • BMC high flow air filter

We recommend replacing the mass air flow sensor at the same time as installing this kit because a dirty or old MAF will reduce the performance and effectiveness of the plenum.

About IPD

The revolutionary and patented design of the IPD Porsche Plenums improve intake air flow by replacing the factory plastic "T" style design with a more efficient, cast aluminum "Y" design. This innovative “Y” diversion area of the IPD Plenums split and channel intake air flow reducing air flow turbulence and increasing air flow velocity. This superior and proven design ultimately results in considerable power gains throughout both horsepower and torque curves. Performance is also enhanced with our uniquely dimpled interior surfaces which create improved boundary layers further optimizing intake air flow characteristics.

About BMC Air Filters

BMC air filters are a complete replacement to the factory paper air filter and fit perfectly in the stock air filter location. Made using only high quality materials they allow for an increase in air flow with more efficient filtering of impurities as small as 7 microns.

BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from fumes and oxidization due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled, and they can be washed and regenerated by using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
